The EtonHouse International Education Group provides educational services through International Schools, Pre-Schools and Teacher Education/Professional Development courses. Registered with the Ministry of Education in Singapore and China, EtonHouse is a member of the Council of International Schools.
Headquartered in Singapore, EtonHouse currently operates more than 70 pre-schools and schools across Singapore, China, Indonesia, India, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Cambodia and Vietnam. Together these campuses provide quality international education to over 5000 children from 61 different nationalities. EtonHouse has 9 pre-schools, 1 international primary school and 2 Japanese kindergartens in Singapore.
EtonHouse’s first school commenced operation in 1995 in Singapore. Spanning almost 18 years, the EtonHouse schools have set standards of excellence across Asia by providing high quality international education.
EtonHouse schools follow an international curriculum inspired by best practice. In the early years, a child-responsive Inquire-Think-Learn integrated curriculum approach is followed. This approach is inspired by the Reggio Emilia Educational Project of Northern Italy. In the primary, middle and high school levels, EtonHouse follows the International Baccalaureate Programme, with its inquiry-centred, multi-disciplinary philosophy. EtonHouse schools in Singapore in Newton, Orchard and Broadrick and Suzhou and Wuxi in China are authorised International Baccalaureate World Schools. EtonHouse Newton and Orchard are the first stand-alone pre-schools in Singapore to acquire the IB PYP World School status.
EtonHouse Pre-Schools were also amongst the first in Singapore to receive the SPARK (Singapore Pre-Schools Accreditation Framework) award introduced by the Ministry of Education to both acknowledge and raise the quality of pre-school education in Singapore. EtonHouse educators also won the ‘Outstanding Leader’ and ‘Outstanding Teacher’ awards conferred by MCYS in 2011, the highest award in the profession.
In 2012, EtonHouse Vanda was awarded the CHERISH Junior Award, launched by the Health Promotion Board and MOE, in recognition of their efforts to attain high standards of health promotion in the school. In the same month, EtonHouse 764 Mountbatten became the first pre-school to achieve the Platinum status of the Community In Bloom Award to acknowledge their efforts in the building of and maintaining the beautiful school garden.
EtonHouse schools and pre-schools offer an exceptional second language programme through the integrated Mandarin programme and the Pre-SAP immersion programme that equips children in strong second language skills. The primary level Mandarin bilingual programme introduced by EtonHouse in August 2011, is the first-of-its-kind in Singapore.
EtonHouse also runs an in-house research and professional development centre -EtonHouse Education Centre (EEC). The EEC provides continuous training and pedagogical support. In March 2010, the EEC brought the first Reggio Children conference to Singapore followed by another one in April 2012. It was well attended by educators from around Asia and demonstrated the EtonHouse commitment to best practice in international education. One of the greatest strengths that EtonHouse has is the exceptional quality of its teaching staff. The international teachers are carefully selected, fully qualified and experienced and are subject to a thorough background check.
EtonHouse has expanded successfully in China and other parts of Asia with the help of its excellent standards of practice and international quality development framework. It has in the last 18 years also received several commendations from government bodies, international educational networks and has been at the forefront of international education in the Asia Pacific region.
