Hang Out in a HoverChair

With about a month-and-a-half to go in its Kickstarter fundraising campaign, the HoverChair had brought in a little more than $102,000 in pledges, more than five times the amount of the original $20,000 goal.

What's the big deal about another swinging chair?

Part of the appeal may lie in the fact that the chair is portable and foldable -- so those who like literally hanging outside can do so in more than one place.

The chair features an air-cushioned seat, mesh back, holder for a phone, another holder for valuables such as keys or reading glasses, a sleeve to cradle a bottled beverage, and a sack to hold miscellaneous items. There's even a foot hammock (an add-on) that allows the user to prop up their feet in relaxed style.

When it's time to transport the HoverChair to another location, the whole thing packs away at slightly less than 4 pounds. There's 10 feet of rope to work with when hanging the HoverChair, which can hold a maximum of 275 pounds.

The HoverChair has been designed with an eye toward detail, using durable materials, adjustable straps, machine-washable materials, and easily foldable components in order to enhance the user experience.

The apparatus is said to be able to go from a car trunk to a tree trunk in under a minute, making it a go-to choice for picnics, yards, and even porches. Storing HoverChair is relatively painless, too, since it's equally at home sitting in a shed, perched on the back of a motorcycle, stowed in a backpack, or riding in a car trunk.

Early bird pledgers were seen as being able to pick up a single HoverChair for a mere $49 commitment.
